This research examines the economic impact of soil salinity on agriculture in Karakalpakstan while exploring adaptive strategies and the potential for halophyte-based value chain development. A mixed-methods approach identifies significant yield losses and low institutional support while highlighting the unrecognized opportunities for cultivating halophytes as a sustainable farming practice. The findings are intended to inform policies that could enhance agricultural resilience and bolster economic prospects in saline-prone regions.

I obtained a Master of Finance degree in International Finance from the Tashkent Financial Institute. I began my career as a farm manager, overseeing agrotechnological processes and financial tasks for six years. I then joined the Department of Coordinating Reforms in Agriculture at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The knowledge I gained helped me assess draft legal acts related to investment policy and agriculture, manage budget distribution, and evaluate farming activities.
